UBE reveals trends in ethanol and starch sales in the 4th quarter of 2022, welcoming the new season.

Ubon Bio Ethanol Public Company Limited or UBE moves forward to welcome the high season in response to the increased demand for ethanol during the tourist season. In addition, exports of organic tapioca starch, a high-margin product, returned to increase. Prepare to enter the 2022/2023 cassava harvest season, ensuring there is sufficient quality cassava raw material. Prepare to move forward with full production capacity. Ready to bring innovative new strains of yeast to help reduce production costs.

Ms. Sureeyot Khowsurat, President of Ubon Bio Ethanol Public Company Limited (UBE) , the largest well-integrated tapioca player in the northeast region of Thailand using cassava roots as raw materials, highlighted the company's recent performance amidst challenges. "In the third quarter, industrial grade ethanol sales were impacted by COVID-19 control measures, but as we enter the fourth quarter, focus shifts to procuring quality cassava for production, aiming to meet targets. Fuel-grade ethanol sales are expected to rise during the tourist season, bolstering gasohol demand and potentially improving profit margins due to lower costs. Moreover, the tapioca starch segment shows promising growth, buoyed by advance orders for organic cassava flour. UBE continues to explore strategic investments aimed at sustainable long-term business growth."

During the first 9 months of the year (9M'65), the company achieved sales income of 5,141.5 million baht, marking a 2.1 percent increase of 104.0 million baht compared to the same period in the previous year, driven by higher sales volume of fuel-grade ethanol and improved ethanol prices.
