UBE Group moves forward with the UBE CARE project to increase green space. Announcement of intention to plant forests to reduce global warming Increase clean air Create a good, sustainable environment
Ms. Sureeyot Khowsurat, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ubon Bio Ethanol Public Company Limited or UBE, a Thailand’s leading manufacturer and distributor of processed cassava products, led a team of volunteer employees of UBE and its affiliates to announce its intention to create green space through the implementation of the project "UBE CARE, increasing green space" to join in honor of Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of her birthday, June 3, 2023 and World Environment Day. This includes raising awareness and encouraging participation in environmental protection among employees and communities around the factory. One such tree planting activity was recently held in the headquarters area in Ubon Ratchathani Province with the support of 2,000 wild tree seedlings from the Huai Don Watershed Management Unit, Ubon Ratchathani Province under the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation.
This activity is carried out under the main project "UBE CARE, we pay attention...we care" which is the Group's commitment to move towards a sustainable business organization that cares and pays attention to all dimensions both in terms of society, environment and good corporate governance of the organization. This activity is considered as a continuation of the activity of planting 20,000 vetiver grass plants. In addition, the Group continues to build green areas to strengthen the soil in which it has previously operated by increasing the number of trees to create a natural barrier to trap dust, create clean air and help reduce environmental impact, starting from the factory area and extending to the communities surrounding the factory and local government agencies, this will help increase green areas in various public areas and will be beneficial in creating a good environment and sustainability for the community and the country.
