Prepared to advance the ethanol production policy to its full potential, helping consumers navigate the crisis of rising oil prices.
The Tapioca Ethanol Association recently held its 2022 Annual General Meeting, where the key agenda item was the appointment of the association's president. The meeting unanimously resolved to appoint Ms. Sureeyot Khowsurat, Managing Director of Ubon Bio Ethanol Public Company Limited (UBE), as the President of the Tapioca Ethanol Association for the first term.
Ms. Sureeyot is recognized as a new generation of executives with extensive knowledge, expertise, and experience in the ethanol business. She has been involved with UBE since its inception, establishing work systems and overseeing ethanol business operations. Additionally, she has experience in modern health food technology. "I would like to thank all association members for entrusting me with this position," Ms. Sureeyot said. "My first policy goal is to promote and push for the continuous increase of ethanol production and usage from cassava within the country. This initiative not only supports Thai cassava farmers and boosts the domestic economy but also enhances energy security and promotes the use of clean energy. This aligns with the country's strategic trade goals to advance into the biotechnology industry, in line with global trends, where ethanol plays a significant role. Furthermore, increasing ethanol production is timely as Thailand reopens to tourism amidst rising gasoline prices and higher demand for gasohol. Looking ahead, I plan to introduce new innovations to further develop the use of ethanol as a raw material for other product groups, fostering further growth for the entire ethanol industry."
The Tapioca Ethanol Association was established with the primary goal of serving as a facilitator in promoting cassava as a crucial energy crop for the nation. This initiative aims to increase income levels for farmers, add value to agricultural products, and foster cohesion among cassava ethanol producers to enhance competitiveness in the market. Additionally, the association strives to collaborate with the government to align renewable energy policies and serve as a coordination center for ethanol producers and various sectors. This cooperative approach strengthens Thailand's renewable energy sources, positioning the country to become a regional renewable energy hub in the future. Currently, the association comprises nine member companies engaged in the production and sale of ethanol from cassava. These companies include Ubon Bio Ethanol Public Company Limited (UBE), Sapthip Company Limited, Taiping Ethanol Company Limited, Thai Ethanol Power Public Company Limited, P.S.C. Starch Products Public Company Limited, E85 Company Limited, Upventure Company Limited, Fah Kwanthip Company Limited, and Impress Ethanol Co., Ltd.
